Different Scrappy Stars Layout

Playing around with a different layout for the Scrappy Stars.  I didn't like the dark brown sashing, but I am going to use that fabric in the border of the quilt.  I STILL have not found my original magazine, but I like the HST border in the original pattern.  I found it on All People Quilt, so I *have* the pattern.

What do you think of this setting?  I'd have to make two more blocks to have 3 x 5 blocks.  A good throw size.

Yes, I like this better than with the brown sashing. It looks great!

i really did like the last one but i also like the lightness of this one. this one feels more like a spring quilt and the other like a fall. i'd call it a win-win situation!!

LOVE IT! Love, love, love!!!

I loved the brown but I think it took a block with a lot of piecing and made it look much too simple. It would be a good sashing to keep in mind for sampler quilt or even orphan blocks when you NEED something to balance the quilt.

One day when you get the time Joan, I'd love to hear your thinking process with scraps. Do you cut up strips and bricks for "someday" quilts, cut for several specific scrap quilts at a time, or something different.

I'm stumped between wanting to cut enough so I have a good variety and yet not have to make room for a lot of plastic containers. I want to USE them.. not just cut them up and store them. Any ideas???

I like the neutral sashing, makes the quilt look more "open"

looking forward to seeing the border

I like it, and I'm thinkin' a pieced border with a lot of colors would work well with this setting . . . hmmmm, possibilities.
